I’ve just returned home from hosting several successful worldwide workshops, performances, and sema gatherings in Iran, Turkey, Lebanon, and a solstice event in New York. A big thank you to everyone who attended performances and participated! June was an amazing month of opportunities in dance and healing for people worldwide and with it soon begins a summer of dance workshops and classes you will not want to miss.
The July full moon, known as the Buck Moon, a supermoon, arrives tonight on July 3, and with a supersize moon arrives supersize energy and an opportunity for initiative.
The legacy of dance is in healing and harmony. This month I resume my Sacred Circle online gatherings for meditation, breath work, healing, and lectures and discussion on Yarsan Sufism with live music and poetry reading. On Wednesdays, accompanied by Seyed Salman Hosseini, our Yarsan Mystic Music Theory classes also resume for lessons on music in Iranian mysticism. My dance classes will resume in August. Coming in August through late September the Simorgh Dance Collective and I are showcasing the Silk Road culture of dance and music at San Jose Summer Fest and at the third annual Mosaic Festival, both in San Jose. We are dedicated to cultivating belonging, healing, and harmony in these events. The support of the community is what powers our movement.
