Dear Friends,
My book has finally arrived. This is the moment I’ve been waiting for a long time. Seeing the result of years of dedication, effort, and inspiration in my hands is indescribable. What once lived only in my heart is now in the hands of readers, and my words have finally stepped out into the world to meet you. This is not just a book, it’s a journey from my heart and soul to yours.
This month and those coming will be full of author meet-and-greet events and book talks as I promote my new book Companions of the Sun. Within my book I share my meticulous research on Iranian/Persian rituals, mysticism, and sacred dance. I examine how these ancient practices shaped global music, dance, and spirituality to evolve into movements infused with mystical poetry, art, and storytelling. More than history, this book is a spiritual guide, revealing how sacred dance and whirling serve as meditative practices, aligning body and soul with the Divine. Look below for some of the online lectures or gatherings at libraries and bookshops for engaging talks and performances in support of this exceptional book. Order now.
The weekend of Aug. 16-17 was an amazing experience! The day at Sounds of Silk in Salt Lake City I shared my heart through performance, my mind through lecture, and my soul for a workshop. At the World Arts West Festival the next day I was grateful and honored to participate among amazing artists and an inspiring panel. Together we celebrated diversity, unity, love, and healing. tt was an honor to share space with such inspiring voices.
Mark your calendars this month when the Simorgh Dance Collective and I perform on-stage at the SpARC 2025 festival, a showcase of incredible South Bay dance talent September 20 at the Mexican Heritage Theater, San Jose. Then get ready to celebrate the arrival of Fall September 28 at the Roya Foundation Mehregan Festival in San Ramon. Amongst the food, arts, and craft vendors there will be live music and entertainment, including performances by the Simorgh Dance Collective and I.
Wishing to see you soon in dance where ever you are,
Farima
