Dear Friends,
The flowers that bloom in winter tell stories of renewal, love, and perseverance. They signify survival, admiration, and pride against the threatening dark and cold. Like the rose in winter, be stubborn in giving love and hope amidst the hate and doubt of dark days to bring beauty, warmth, and spring near.
As spring approaches, the Simorgh Dance Collective and I are prepared to bring the delightful dances of Persia and the Silk Road near you. In honor of Nowruz, the Persian New Year and celebration of spring, we perform traditional Persian and Silk Road dances in many northern California locations including Campbell, Mountain View, Saratoga, San Ramon, Benicia, and Fresno. Study our March calendar of events below and I hope you can join us.
Next week, grab your sweetheart and join me online as I share the amazing story of the Iranian annual celebration of Sepandārmazgān, the day of love. I’ll explain what the festival represents and its legacy, as well as the mythological origins of the Goddess of Love. Learn of the ancient festival’s rituals and those customs that are celebrated today. Follow us online as we prepare a healthy “love” potion based on an ancient Iranian recipe.
Finally, my long-awaited online classes in Persian dance will be resuming in April. Be sure to visit http://classes.farimadnace.com for updates.
