Dear Friends,
I wish to thank the organizers and participants of the Tanweer Sacred Music Festival in UAE last November. Thank you for inviting me to lecture and present sacred dances, thereby joining the international presenters who came to bring healing, peace, and unity to the world.
This has been an amazing year of performances and collaborations by the Simorgh Dance Collective that I for one am very grateful for. I’ve enjoyed meeting, participating, and learning with so many of you worldwide. Although this year is coming to a close there are still many special events and performances coming you will all like.
Next Sunday, Dec. 15 at the International House at UC Davis join me for “Yalda: A Night of Light” as I dance honoring the traditions of the Persian diaspora with poetry readings of Rumi and Hafiz, storytelling, and classical Iranian music by the Nariman Percussion Ensemble.
Help support the Simorgh Dance Collective by visiting the Simorgh Holiday Bazaar for specialty Silk Road costume gifts, jewelry, and more and help support the work of the Simorgh Dance Collective as well. Your donation supports the work of the Simorgh Dance Collective and contributes to the research, costuming, travel, scholarship and public presentation of Silk Road dance and music.
With love wishing you safety, joy, peace, and health in the coming year! Happy Yalda and Happy Holidays!
