Dear Friends,
My Sacred Journey of the Soul retreat in rural southern Vermont has completed, a week filled with sacred healing circles and rituals, lectures, meditation, whirling, music, and poetry, as well as time in nature hiking scenic trails and a dip into a forest-surrounded lake. I feel truly blessed to have shared this transformative experience with so many wonderful souls. Also unforgettable were the gourmet meals prepared by our amazing Persian/Lebanese chef. We are making plans to return again next year and hope more will join us in this sacred retreat.
Coming up October 6 in San Jose is the fourth annual Mosaic Festival, a celebration of all cultures in dance, music, art, and food. The Simorgh Dance Collective will be sharing several traditional dances of the Silk Road during the Festival. This free festival in San Jose honors our community with a day of belonging, healing, and harmony through art and culture. Art is a chance to strive for our highest potential in this lifetime.
A reprise of Wandering with the Wind, a stage production directed by award-winning actor and director Sadeh Hatefi, will play in Fresno November 16. Wandering with the Wind explores all corners of Iran, inviting you to immerse yourself with poetry, song, music, and dance showcasing moments from a culture and civilization when happiness and hope formed the cornerstone of life. Once again the Simorgh Dance Collective will perform traditional Silk Road dances amidst actors and traditional music played live. Details and a link to purchase tickets appears here.
Finally, I will be lecturing and performing sacred dance at the prestigious Taweer Sacred Music Festival November 23 in United Arab Emirates. The Festival brings artists from around the world who understand the message to preserve and revive sacred music traditions.
Hoping to see you soon in dance where ever you are,
Farima
