Sacred and Whirling Dance Workshop
Dances of the Silk Road Workshops with Farima Berenji
Farima’s signature project Dance of the Soul combines sacred and mystical whirling movements, Sufi traditions, and healing rituals of ancient Persia, Turkey, and the Altai Mountains. Learn both personal and spiritual whirling based on Farima’s archeological discoveries and research, and of Sufism and its connection to ancient Iranian Zoroastrianism, planets, stars, sacred flowers and animals—all of which have symbolic meaning in the universe to open the pathway to the soul.
Includes:
- Power of whirling in sync with astrological moments and planets.
- Power of poetry, imagination, and word repetition.
- Balancing negative and positive energies with breathing.
- The power of the sharing circle and acts of kindness.
- Whirling based on the “Star of Magi” (the 8 pointed sacred star of Persia).
- Sacred dance turns, spirals, and circles based on Persian ancient sacred flowers, geometry, and animals.
- Prayer as dance and ancient healing practices including Iranian Sema, Turkish Sema, Gowati (ancient Persian Zikr), Zar, Chanting, and Turkish Zikr.
