October 2026

Dear Friends,

Happy Mehregan! Mehregan is the ancient Persian festival of harvest, thanksgiving, and friendship dedicated to Mithra, the god of light, love, covenants. A core value of Mehregan is honoring friendship, love, and the triumph of good over evil. It is traditionally celebrated in early October. When I consider my fortune, fans, and friends I find much to be thankful for. This last month I will mention a few events to be thankful for. The Simorgh Dance Collective and I performed several traditional Iranian dances for the Roya Foundation’s Mehregan Festival in San Ramon and our dances and costumes were received enthusiastically by the audience. During NoorAva “Boundless” last month at the intimate Montalvo Arts Center theatre, I love dancing surrounded by the music of professional traditional musicians such as Behfar Bahadoran and Pejman Hadadi, and vocalist Alireza Shahmohammadi. I wish to thank the Montalvo Arts Center staff, these artists, and the audience attending.

I’m looking forward to seeing you my friends at upcoming performances and presentations for October through December as summarized below. This coming week I will be performing at the San Jose Pars Equality Center in San Jose for their Mehregan festival. Two cultural events with Mosaic America in the South Bay with other local artists follow. Please check my event links online for more details on location and time of day as these details are not available at the moment. Finally I am honored to share stories and my research with Imagining America at their national gathering at UC Davis this month. Look below for all details.

Hoping to see you in dance soon,

Farima
