A leading scholar of Persian studies\, Prof. Williams has been awarded Wolfson Research Professorship for his project to translate the entire Masnavi of the celebrated poet Mowlana Jalal ad-Din Rumi into English verse. Prof. Williams will speak about the symbolism of birds in the poetry of Rumi and Attar. \n* Davod Azad\, internationally renowned vocalist\, composer\, and multi-instrumentalist specialising in ancient Persian music\, Persian Sufi music and Azeri folk music. He has delivered talks about his music at various universities around the world including Coloumbia University and the University of Oxford.
