May-June 2021

Dear Friends,

Gradually and guardedly, our society is returning from isolation to enjoy community once more. What a relief it is then to share now during my travels to Beirut, Lebanon this month that I am participating in public performances and facilitating a dance and healing retreat.

Rebirth is a night of improvised Sufi dance, music, and poetry. Held May 27 and 28 at the Mina Image Centre, an art gallery and important cultural hub near the Port of Beirut, I look forward to bring beauty and healing to its community. I will be dancing to the music of Hanan Halwany and mystical poetry read by Nicole Farah. If you are in Beirut RSVP to join us for this free concert. Seating is limited.

The power of sacred phrases, chants, music, and movements from ancient Persian spiritual traditions and Sufism to help touch the spiritual essence within us and discover a means to appreciate it in others. In my coming Sufi Woman’s Circle Retreat June 11-13 in Beirut, be introduced to rituals celebrating the grace and joy of life and to a society where and when women were honored and people lived in harmony with each other and with nature. Registration is limited, please find more details among the calendar below.

Sufi music master Seyed Salman Hosseini joins me weekly for an hour of online lectures and analysis of the seven Sufi sacred maqams and mysticism. My online classes continue to attract students world over for Beginning Persian Sacred Dance, Sacred Dance and Whirling, and Persian and Silk Road dance classes. Look for more details in the calendar below.

Wishing you safety, love, and health,
Farima
