May 2019

Thank you Sangam Arts, World Arts West, Dancer’s Group, Grants for the Arts, and San Francisco City Hall for inviting the Simorgh Dance Collective to present traditional, classical, and sacred dances of the Silk Road last April 5. It was an honor to grace the vast and magnificent San Francisco City Hall, a hall constructed as a monument to epitomize the American Renaissance of architecture and arts, with our beautiful dances and live music. Many who witnessed it exclaimed it was the finest performance of all the years the monthly free Rotunda Dance Series has performed there.

Thank you Ostad Ali Aminipour who came to San Jose all the way from Iran/UK and to Ostad Amjadi, master of Persian music, who performed special live music for our last monthly Dance of the Soul Sema gathering, April 27. Thank you to these great masters who blessed us with their words and music.

My next Dance of the Soul in San Jose will be in July as I will be whirling around the world soon so please come and dance with me! It is still possible to join me for an exciting Cultural and Mystical Tour of Iran this month, the Warriors of Light retreat in Turkey and Greece in June, and the Dance of the Soul Sufi Dance retreat in Lebanon soon after. Space is limited.

This Sunday, the Simorgh Dance Collective and I are in Anchorage to paint Colors of Persia, a dinner dance concert that celebrates the diverse people, cultures, and dances of Persia. Admission includes a pre-show Persian dinner banquet. Look for a tickets link and more details below for all upcoming events.

Master instructors of the Iveria Georgian Dance Group and other guest dance instructors are collaborating with me in the weekly International Dance Classes. Learn traditional dances and dance technique of Azerbaijan, Georgia, the Balkans, Iran, and Central Asia. All levels of dance skill are welcome.
