DESCRIPTION:Learn Uzbek traditional dance technique\, choreography\, and history with Rashid Shadat and Farima Berenji. \nPart of our Silk Road dance intensive program. At each monthly intensive you will learn history\, music\, costuming and choreography from Farima and guest master instructors. The program focus by month includes: \n\nApril: Georgia\nMay: Uzbekistan\nJune: Azerbaijan\n\nTajikistan\, Afghanistan\, Turkmenistan\, Turkestan\, Turkey and Armenia are planned for Summer/Fall. \nClass meets weekly on Saturdays.  Register by the first monthly class for $15/week  for the month of May or pay $20 per class. Discounts are available if additional courses are taken during the month from farimadance.com.

DESCRIPTION:A lecture with Farima Berenji. \nInternationally acclaimed dance artist\, choreographer\, and scholar Farima Berenji is passionate when she speaks of the role dance has played in her life. At her core\, she believes dance rituals invoke healing and harmony. This was the legacy of these dances but over time\, people have lost connection to them. She feels strongly that bringing these ancient rituals back to life will help bring positive change to our lives. \nPlease register and make a donation of between $1 – 10 to help cover our costs.
